Jennifer StuartParticipantHello,
My name is Jen and I am a Paramedic based in Hampshire. I previously worked as a frontline paramedic with South Western Ambulance Service for 10 years but have now transitioned into Primary Care and for the last 4 years have worked in a GP practice doing face to face and telephone patient consultations.
I am hoping the prescribing course will be very insightful in improving my understanding of making autonomous prescribing decisions and being able to enhance patient care.
I look forward to meeting you all online!

My name is Claire and I have been a qualified adult nurse for 22 years. My current role is an Apheresis Specialist Nurse working for NHS Blood and Transplant, I am based at The Christie in Manchester – with this role I manage adults and paediatric patients. The main specialties are haematology, renal, neuro and cardio thoracic (pre&post transplant).

Marcia PerrowParticipantHi all! My name is Marcie, I am a Trainee ANP in the Acute Surgical Team at University Hospital! What a mouthful! I have been in post for nearly a year now, and prior to this worked in the General ICU and Cardiac HDU areas. I am excited to be starting the course, and looking forward to being able to cover the content online and not in a fixed lecture hall!
I work with some fully qualified ANPs who clerk acute surgical patients, make treatment plans, and prescribe etc, I look forward to being able to do this also, although I am nervous to start the prescribing module.
Looking forward to studying with you all!
Best wishes,
Marcie

Jane QuinnParticipantMy name is Jane and I am a self employed Aesthetic Nurse. I qualified as an RGN in 2003 working in the spinal injuries unit and then in the community as a district nurse. I trained in aesthetic procedures starting in 2007 up to the present day. I have to rely on a prescriber for several treatments that are POM, but i want to be independent in my practice.
I am excited but also scared to starting this course, its been many years since i attended University. Great to know we have this cohort forum to discuss anything of concern or query.
Good luck everyone.
Jane

Lauren DeanusParticipantHi, my name is Lauren. I work as a trainee ACP in adult cancer care. My training post rotates every 6 months so my role will vary around radiotherapy, inpatient wards, acute assessment units, bone marrow transplant and teenage/young adult cancer care. I am currently based in acute oncology which is essentially an ED for cancer patients. I see patients with a variety of conditions, some of which relate to their cancer such as electrolyte imbalance, neutropenic sepsis, spinal cord compression etc, as well as non-cancer specific problems such as heart attacks, strokes and renal colic. I clerk patients and make diagnostic and treatment plans which I discuss with a senior whilst training. I currently rely on colleagues to do all my prescribing for me which I am looking forward to being able to do myself to relieve some of that workload from others.
Daunted but excited to begin this module!
